New cd Ray Benson Title Of Album: A Little Piece

Since 1969, Ray Benson has been the frontman for country swing band Asleep at the Wheel. The band’s wild productivity has meant that Benson has released only one solo effort, 2003′s Beyond Time. On Jan. 21, he released his second solo album, A Little Piece.
At 62 years old, Ray Benson has reached that point in life that many do in middle age. A desire to simply things sets in, to be neither seeker nor sage, and he eloquently expresses that on his new album. Yet, somehow the approach opens up a world of possibilities for Benson. Working outside the confines of the Western swing music that he spent a lifetime mastering also frees him up to experiment, which you can hear in the shifting time signatures and new grass soloists on this song.

Though Ray Benson wrote most of the material on his new CD, he found an obscure, previously unrecorded gem, co-written by the late outlaw country legend Waylon Jennings, that fits in seamlessly with the album’s theme. In a nod to his lengthy tenure in Texas music, Benson enlists the man who first lured him to Austin in the 1970s, his longtime friend and cohort Willie Nelson, to help bring the song to life.

The album also features “Wide Awake,” the only original song on the project. It was co-written by Jamie and her father/manager, Jimmy Murphy. “It’s a funny song I wrote with my dad as an ode to everyone who gets to sleep with a ‘snoring moose’ every night,” Jamie said of the fan-favorite.

Rodney also has a full list of tour dates on his schedule. Visit www.RodneyCrowell.com for dates and ticket information.

She came to greater prominence in 1967 as a featured performer on singer Porter Wagoner's weekly television program; their first duet single, a cover of Tom Paxton's "The Last Thing on My Mind", was a top-ten hit on the country singles charts, and led to several successful albums before they ended their partnership in 1974. Moving towards mainstream pop music, Parton's 1977 single "Here You Come Again" was a success on both the country and pop charts. A string of pop-country hits followed into the mid-1980s, the most successful being her 1981 hit "9 to 5" (from the film of the same name), and her 1983 duet with Kenny Rogers "Islands in the Stream", both of which topped the U.S. pop and country singles charts. New from Georgia Fall

Love The Hard Way is the debut album from Sydney based trio Georgia Fall, Mellissa Baker, Paul Bain and James Bernauer.
The album, produced by Golden Guitar nominee Sean Rudd and also featuring songs co-written by Lyn Bowtell, has been two years in the making, a spokesman for the trio said. "The album title is a reference to a song lyric and sums up the overall tone of the album, being that love can be a complex part of life.
"Contrary to popular belief, no one in the band is named Georgia; the trio simply thought it had a great ring to it. Lead vocalist Mellissa, an Academy Of Country Music graduate, grew up in Charters Towers (Qld) and was a regular at the state's country music festivals, while drummer Paul grew up in Brisbane.
"James, one of Sydney's hottest guitarists, has spent his life studying music and is a graduate of the University of New England with a Bachelor of Pop Music and Performance."
The trio was formed in Sydney, where they now all live.
Love The Hard Way is released on iTunes today and will be officially launched on Tuesday (January 21) at 11am at Country Music Capital's SSS BBQ Barn.

Country singer and songwriter Jon Pardi, born May 20, 1985, and raised in Dixon, California, discovered his love of country music early, thanks in no small part to his grandfather's country karaoke machine. Falling under the spell of traditional country artists like George Jones and George Strait, and with a special affinity for Hank Williams Jr., Pardi was playing guitar as a child, and was only seven years old when he belted out "Friends in Low Places" at his father's 30th birthday party at a local hall. He was 12 when he started writing his own songs, and joined his first band at the age of 14. Country music was the only thing Pardi really wanted to do. He formed a duo with friend Chase McGrew after he graduated from high school, and the pair began playing the regional clubs and bars. Pardi and McGrew moved to Chico together to attend Butte Junior College, and for the next three years played in a local band called Northern Comfort. Pardi always knew he had to end up in Nashville, the home of country music, in order to fulfill his dream, and he moved there in 2008 when he was 23. He supported himself initially as a lifeguard, but he had developed into a natural narrative songwriter, and landed a publishing deal just 18 months after arriving in Music City. The publishing deal led to a lot of well-connected co-writing for Pardi, and he honed his writing skills even more, usually singing his own demos of the songs to shop around. His name got frequently noticed and recalled, and following a showcase gig with his band, Pardi signed a recording deal with Capitol Records Nashville. Using friend and collaborator Bart Butler as producer (Butler had handled most of Pardi's demo sessions), he began recording his debut album. A first single from the project, "Missin' You Crazy," was released in the spring of 2012, with the album itself, Write You a Song, finally arriving early in 2014.
