Dolly Parton releasing a brand spanking new album! ‘Blue Smoke’ will go hand in hand with the Blue Smoke World Tour 2014
Parton’s very own record label, appropriately named Dolly Records,
joined forces with Sony Masterworks for the upcoming project. American
and European fans will have to wait a little longer than Aussie and
Kiwi fans, however — the record comes out Jan. 31 in New Zealand and
Australia, but isn’t set for release in the States and Europe until May
“We at Masterworks think that ‘Blue Smoke’ sits with Dolly Parton’s
very best recorded work, as global audiences will discover when she
begins her world tour in January 2014,” Bogdan Roscic, president of
Sony Masterworks, says.
Parton’s tour will bring her all over the world in 2014, with stops in
places like the U.K., Norway, Germany, and of course, America.

Jake Owen - 'Days of Gold' (December 3 2013)
This summer, Jake Owen revealed the release date of his fourth studio album on Jimmie Kimmel -- as well as an album trailer sure to wet fans' appetites. Feast your eyes and ears.
The
album got some positive reviews from Allmusic, Country Weekly, Got
Country Online and USA Today. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic gave
it a three-and-a-half out of five stars, and thought that the album had a
less polished sound than its predecessor. He wrote that "There's no
mistaking Days of Gold for anything earthy, but this sonic thawing winds
up emphasizing Owen's inherent sweetness in an appealing fashion."At
Country Weekly, Tammy Ragusa graded the album to be an A-, saying that
Owen's voice was "ffortless and easy", and that its themes seemed like
an artistic evolution from the previous album. Donna Block of Got
Country Online gave it a perfect five star rating, and called this album
"precious", which fans and listeners alike should own this album. At
USA Today, Brian Mansfield rated it a three out of four stars, and felt
that after the first three songs that the album goes south somewhat,
which he noted that the hits are likely to be the "party songs";
however, he affirmed that "the others separate him from the pack."
