Eddy Arnold

Richard Edward «Eddy» Arnold (May 15, 1918 – May 8, 2008) was an American country music singer who performed for six decades. He was a so-called Nashville sound (country/popular music) innovator of the late 1950s, and scored 147 songs on the Billboard country music charts, second only to George Jones. He sold more than 85 million records. A member of the Grand Ole Opry (beginning 1943) and the Country Music Hall of Fame (beginning 1966), Arnold ranked 22nd on Country Music Television’s 2003 list of «The 40 Greatest Men of Country Music.» He co-wrote the country and pop standard «You Don’t Know Me».

Jimmie» Rodgers

James Charles «Jimmie» Rodgers (September 8, 1897 – May 26, 1933) was an American country singer in the early 20th century, known most widely for his rhythmic yodeling. Among the first country music superstars and pioneers, Rodgers was also known as «The Singing Brakeman», «The Blue Yodeler», and «The Father of Country Music».

Vernon Oxford

When Chet Atkins first heard Vernon Oxford, he said, »I didn’t know there was any of them left.» The irony is that Vernon was too country for country music. He came to Nashville in 1963 playing and singing in the old way, and he made some of the best country music from the ’60s and ’70s. Recognized overseas more than at home, he only had one major hit, Redneck. It’s here with all his RCA recordings, as well as singles he made for small labels like Omni and Stop. The 142 titles including Watermelon Time In Georgia, Woman Let Me Sing You A Song, Nashville Women, Baby Sister, Hazard County Saturday Night, Good Old Fashioned Saturday Night Honky Tonk Barroom Brawl, as well as the original version of Brother Jukebox. The set is rounded out with the three superlative Rounder albums and our vintage Bear Family LP. Country music comes no more soulful — and no more country!

Kenny Paul

Kenny Paul was born and raised on a farm just outside Maghera in Northern Ireland.  Maghera is a quiet market town situated about forty miles from Belfast at the foot of the Glen Shane Pass.
After leaving school Kenny worked for a few years on the farm.  During this time he taught himself to play the guitar and began singing a few of his favourite songs in the local clubs.  Word spread quickly about his talent for singing and he soon found himself singing three or four nights a week.  Eventually Kenny had so much work in the entertainment scene that he had to give up his farming career to concentrate on the music.
Kenny is now one of the most versatile singers in Ireland and is in great demand to provide entertainment in hotels and country clubs throughout the U.K. and Ireland.  Kenny sings a mixture of country and Irish, middle of the road and sixties music. He tours regularly in England, Scotland, Wales and Spain and has performed along with many of Ireland's top bands including Big Tom, Declan Nerney, Philomena Begley, Susan McCann and Louise Morrisey.
Kenny has released eighteen albums and five DVDs to date.  One of his most recent releases features two original songs written by Kenny, “Memories Of You” and “Keep It Country” which is the title track of the album.

It’s been a busy year for Flat Lake, Alberta’s Brett Kissel, who released his major label debut album Started With A Song, on October 1.  The Edmonton Journal called it, “…a whambam collection of 10 sweeping love songs and lively party anthems that leave you glossy-eyed and daydream drunk … His songs like to play hooky with pop punches and rock growls, making for a crossgenre record that will surely befriend a very large audience.”
The album’s first single and title track became the highest charting debut single by a Canadian artist at Canadian country radio since 2000. It was the most played Canadian single for six weeks this summer.  The music video for “Started With A Song” reached No. 1 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown and stayed at the top for three straight weeks.
His second single, “Raise Your Glass,” is already Top 10 on the Canadian Country radio charts and as of last week was the most played country song by a Canadian artist.

Five-time Grammy nominee Rhonda Vincent, the New Queen of Bluegrass as deemed by the Wall Street Journal, is clearing the lane for her upcoming 2-Disc combination release that includes six-songs each of Bluegrass and Country.  The project, appropriately titled Only Me, serves as a reminder why Rhonda Vincent & The Rage is the most awarded band in bluegrass music.  Only Me will be released on Upper Management Music, and available where all music is sold on January 28, 2014.
Sticking with her musical roots, Rhonda is joined by Daryle Singletary on “We Must Have Been Out of Our Minds,” while Willie Nelson adds vocals and a guitar solo to the title track.
“The Bluegrass pickers on this song are some of the best that I have ever heard. When I think of Bluegrass, this is the sound that I hear,” says Willie Nelson.  “Rhonda’s voice is beautiful. I am thankful for her letting me be a part of it all.”
This project answers the question of whether Rhonda’s voice is bluegrass or country; by confirming, “it’s in the perception of the listener.”   Titled Only Me to further make the statement that either way, bluegrass or country, it’s Rhonda!
